Hi,

I'm new to this site, I have read some of the comments some with tears in my eyes. I love boxers. I have 2 (a white 6 year old girl Ralla and a brindle and white 2 yr old boy King). I'm struggling a bit with my gourgous boy, he has bags of energy and demands attention when someone new comes in the house.

He stays in his crate when I'm out as can be destructive and is lead walked for at least an hour a day (I dont let him off as I cant get him back and hes not very good with other dogs).

I have 3 small children who he is great with and my husband is currently serving in Afghanistan, my family all live faraway so I am currently going it alone!

I have had a dog trainer whos best advice was to rehome him to someone who can give him more time and an outlet for his energy but I cant bring myself to fill in the form to rehome him.

Has anyone else been in this situation? He still lives in a loving home and is walked regularly. Please give me some advice on what to do. x

Thanks kirsteen,

I do seem to believe Rocky had something to do with me not referring to the adoption pack!

kirsteen BDRNE says...

Chappie is fine for Rocky Jon, it's listed on the recommended foods list we gave you in the adoption pack.

I am wanting a bit of advice really.

I rescued 'Rocky' last year and he is great apart from his funny tummy. He came with a bag of James Welbeloved dry dog food and as dog owners will know this is probably one of the most expensive. I have had him on this food ever since (nearly a year now) however he has always had a funny tummy, it's very unpredictable but when he does have a bad stomach its constantly rumbling and he won't eat.

He has been on a holiday to one of my friends this weekend and she was recommended by a friend of hers to try him on a little bit of chappie along with his james wellbeloved- atlast we have had a solid poo tonight!

Does anyone use chappie?I have read a lot on the internet it's great for dogs with bad stomachs. But is it bad for my boxer?

Hi

Unfortunately i have bad news my best friend in the world has just gone to rainbow bridge im devasted.

I have lost the love off my life my human boxer called murphy xx

I am thankful he did not suffer and was happy till the end but he will always walk with me and be at my side ..

Treasure those moments and capture every second cause boy is life empty when they go..

He was a good 11 year old who had a life off love and magical experiences even though when he was being playing and digging up the garden i could have killed him lol xx my life will never be the same but i will get another lovely boxerdog who deserves to be loved and looked after and i know murphy will understand and he will wait for me at the bridge although probably for an egg custard as those where his favorite !!!!

Can't believe anyone could give up their boxer.

My Zena is 12 now ... a little slow, a little arthritic, a little darling.

I found your site very beautiful. The stories are heart wrenching at times but so good to know that new homes are found.

Rainbow Bridge is beckoning I know but but so far we are still holding out!!

Keep up the good work

Jenny

Hi, we had an absolutely wonderful day at the fun day in 2008, as did our Boxer,  Zeta!  We wondered if you had any plans for another any time soon? Kind regards, Louise

Hi Alison

I too lost my lovely boxer Boycey on New Years Eve.  He was epileptic for nearly eight years but unfortunately in the end there was nothing we could do and we too had to make that most awful decision.  The pain is unbearable for at least five weeks and then gradually although you still really hurt and miss them soo much, you will manage to talk about them and laugh at times.  There have been hardly any days that I have managed not to cry and I think about Boycey soo much and like you I just can't imagine having ever been parted from him for any other reason than the rainbow bridge.  You will soon start to feel better and that awful feeling that someone is squeezing your heart and you can't breathe will soon not last all day, only when you think about them.

Take care and remember all of those happy Boxer memories, those naughty moments that make you laugh so much and appreciate how lucky we all are to have shared such love with our best boxer friends.

Hi,

To those who remember me it's Lea with Lenny and Boo. You all gave me lots of support while Mia was having problems with her eyes. As you may remember Mia had Mast cell. After over a year longer than any one thought she would be with us Mia went very peacefully to sleep last Friday. RIP our darling girl.

I have tried to log back in as a memeber and have asked for assistance with this however still had no word and still can't log in although still get some of the e-mails.

Hope you all ok it would be nice to hear from  the old gang.

Love Lea

Hi Alison, its very early days yet  for you losing Oxo, you have to grieve just as you would a losing a human family member. Its very hard and I like you still cry at the drop of a hat. I look over my hundreds of pictures and videos I have of Libby and can even laugh at some of her crazy boxer antics, but the pain is still there and there are so  many things I miss about her.We have another boxer who is nearly 9 and she is such a comfort even though she has found it difficult I can tell. If you want to contact me privately please feel free, I would love to see some pics of Oxo. Don't forget no one can take those memories from you, and you wil in time take such comfort in them. Take care.

Hi Kim!

Cant believe its been 6 months?!  Hes still sorely missed here but soo glad hes doing so well.  I cant help but laugh at the mental image of him gorging on a box of truffles, tho the stomach pump sounds nasty!  a 2 stone weight loss is something to be proud of tho

Hi Everyone,

Just realised today we've had the gorgeous Tyler for 6 months - wow how times flies! Wanted to say thanks again for the best dog ever, he's slotted into the family so well and we couldn't image life without him. Our family are disapointed if they dont get to see he and he's claimed a whole sofa in the front room!

We've had our ups and downs, major down when we nearly lost him when he choked on a tennis ball - or even when decided to eat a whole box of truffles, foils and wrapping paper included and got a stomach pump at christmas haha! He's gone from 10stone to 8st 3lb and he's alot more bouncy and happier. He even now performs the "bark dance" at tea time!

Thanks again for bringing the big man to us.

Love Kim xx
